Conflict of Interest Policy
This policy supports fair, transparent and mission-aligned Association decisions.
1. Purpose
This policy protects AF2A's mission when a personal, professional or financial interest could influence, or appear to influence, an Association decision.
2. Covered Persons
This policy applies to officers, directors, committee members, key volunteers, employees, contractors and other persons authorized to participate in material AF2A decisions.
3. Duty to Disclose
A covered person must promptly disclose relevant actual or potential conflicts, including the nature of the interest and the affected decision or transaction.
4. Review and Recusal
Disinterested decision-makers determine how a conflict is handled. The affected person must not vote on the matter and leaves the discussion when requested.
5. Fair and Mission-Aligned Decisions
AF2A considers reasonable alternatives and determines whether a proposed arrangement is fair, reasonable and consistent with the Association's mission.
6. Documentation
Minutes or other records identify the disclosure, persons present, alternatives considered, decision and voting result.
7. Regular Acknowledgement
Covered persons complete disclosure and acknowledgement requirements established by AF2A.
